Pedro Infante Film Festival Starts July 31th at Main Plaza

CineMundo Slab Cinema and The Main Plaza Conservancy are teaming up to present CineMundo, a monthly film series at Main Plaza. (Map) Films screen at dusk. Free. 

July 31: LOS TRES GARCÍA (THE THREE GARCIAS)
Three cousins—Luis Antonio (Pedro Infante), Jose Luis (Abel Salazar) and Luis Manuel (Manuel Mendoza)—pretend to kill each other in order to win the hand of their beloved Lupita in this romantic comedy with a macho twist.

Aug 28: VUELVEN LOS GARCÍA (THE GARCIAS RETURN)
 The ups and downs of being in love with Lupita continue to plague the Garcia cousins in this tragic sequel to the comedy The Three Garcias.

 

Sept 25: ¡VIVA MI DESGRACIA! (LONG LIVE MY MISFORTUNE)
In this bubbly comedy, a tequila-based love potion transforms timid Ramon (Pedro Infante) into a veritable don Juan…all the better to pursue Carolina, the girl of his dreams.

 

Oct 23 – SUBTEXT CINEMA: ARRIBA LAS MUJERES (HOORAY FOR THE WOMEN) An ardent feminist by the name of Felicidad learns her place is in the home and her husband (Pedro Infante) is the boss in this battle-of-the-sexes comedy in which love somehow manages to conquer all.
